William J. Mills, PM

The Senior Warden is the second of the three principal officers of a lodge, and is the Master’s principal deputy. If the Worshipful Master is absent then the Senior Warden presides at meetings as “acting Master”, and may act for the Master in all matters of lodge business. He sits in the West of the Lodge and assists the Worshipful Master, all while preparing to be Master himself in the future.

The Jewel of his office is the level, and represents equality amongst men – namely that “equal right of each man to the full use and development of such power as he has, whatever it may be, unhindered by injustice or oppression.”
